Gustavus Inn at Glacier Bay
In 1928, what is now Gustavus Inn was a homestead where a hardy couple and their nine children settled to carve a home from the Alaskan wilderness. For three generations now, the Lesh family invites visitors to share their home, hearth and table for adventures in Glacier Bay and Icy Strait
Gustavus Inn rests in the grassy Salmon River meadow with an ocean view of Icy Strait. Our cozy hearth room, naturalist library and family style dining invite conversation and new friendships. We serve a variety of locally brewed beers and wine at our six-stool bar.
Dungeness Crab for dinner Comfortable new guest rooms have a queen and a twin bed, with private bath. Two original homestead rooms, with oceanview, share a hall bath. We also offer wireless internet connectivity (WI-FI) throughout the inn.
Family style meals served in the original homestead dining room will highlight your visit. Start your morning with a hearty sourdough breakfast.. or homemade granola and rhubarb sauce, sprucetip syrup on sourdough pancakes or homemade bread and our own preserves, then enjoy the noonday meal with us or make your day more flexible with a generous Alaskan picnic lunch. Dinner is its own adventure, with just picked garden and native edibles sharing the table with the freshest of salmon, halibut and Dungeness crab plucked from Icy Strait, and a choice of desserts made just for you. Special diets are easily accommodated.
We maintain a full garden for our table, bringing you the freshest lettuce in Alaska, rain-kissed raspberries, and baby carrots from glacial soil.
