Conover's Bay Head Inn is recognized as one of the first and finest bed and breakfast inns in New Jersey. Previous owners in the early 1900's include William and Mary Bristol of Princeton and the L. Hastings Alexander family. By 1912 architect M.B. Medary of Philadelphia redesigned the Alexander summer cottage into the full service Winchester Inn. The Inn has been recognized for fine accommodations since its purchase by the Conovers in 1970.
