Discover your New York! Is your New York bold? Is it brilliant? Is it tranquil? Discover New York in all forms from 70 stories up at the Top of the Rock Observation Deck.
Originally opened to the public in 1933, the observation deck at Rockefeller Center was closed to the public in 1986. Restored and improved, the Top of the Rock Observation Deck reopened to the public in November 2005, offering fantastic 360 degree views of the New York City skyline, including fantastic views of Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, as well as the Hudson and East Rivers.
During the day, you can get a great view of Central Park. During the evening, you can enjoy the glowing city lights, including a great view of the Empire State Building. If you arrive shortly before sunset, you can enjoy both the day and night views. The security guards can be very helpful in identifying landmarks if you're not sure what you're looking at.
You can book your tickets online with just 3 hours of notice (depending on availability), but you can also pick them up at the box office or at one of the kiosks selling tickets in Rockefeller Center.
If you are visiting Top of the Rock in the wintertime, be sure to by the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and Skating Rink for pictures and lots of fun! Both are easily accessible from the Concourse retail shop where guests exit the elevators after their visit.
