The Mimosa Inn

Tryon, North Carolina

Built on the foundations of the original Mills family home, The Mimosa Inn is an historic 10,000 square foot, 106 year old "Plantation" style mansion with 10 guest rooms, all with private baths and a/c, situated on four park-like acres facing the Blue Ridge Mountains. The site is famous for its many champion trees, including the largest Mimosa Silktree (Albiziz julibrissin) growing in the USA. The Inn is also home to many Harlequin Glory Bower (Clerodendrum trichotomum) flowering shrubs that blossom from July through October providing a wonderful light fragrance throughout the summer and fall seasons.

The on-site licensed restaurant and wide-open spaciousness of the Inn's public rooms, porches, patios & 55' front verandah make it an ideal setting for weddings, special occasions or romantic get-a-ways.

Conveniently located between four major cities (Asheville, Charlotte, NC & Greenville, Spartanburg, SC), Tryon is probably the most cosmopolitan small town in North America. Voted one of the top ten best places to retire, Tryon's citizenry represents a real cross section of America with more than half of them originally from somewhere else.
