This colonial revival house was built in 1922 for Mr. John Sims, president of The Normal School, which is now the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. This was the new white wood sided house of the president located across the street from Normal School's main building. Some time in the 1940's, the house was sold to Mr. & Mrs. Weldon Leahy. Mr. Leahy was the prominent president of the Journal Printing Company and publisher of the Stevens Point Journal newspaper.
