The Wolf Hotel threw open its doors on New Year's Eve in 1893 with a gala masquerade ball and sumptuous dinner. One hundred years later, a like celebration was held to honor the "Grand Old Gal" of the Valley. Built by German immigrant Frederick G. Wolf for $6000, the two-and-a-half story Victorian-style structure has since been the anchor for downtown Saratoga.
