The Brass Rail Inn was built in 1922 as the home of two sisters. Before long, they converted it into a Tea Room. In 1939, the business was sold to a San Franciscan, who then remodeled the Tea Room and upstairs bedrooms into a very profitable, though rather risqué business venture: a brothel.
