The miner's house is a restoration of a 1900's period coal company house moved from Mineral, Kansas to the Hamiliton Coal Company #9 mine for coal miner John Machetta. Four families lived in the house over the years. The present owners found the home during the winter of 1997 in Filler, Kansas, a small coal mining community in southeast Kansas. The house was moved to it's present location and completely restored. The new location is rural beside a strip pit lake and the Gathering Place Shop. Owners reside in neighborhood.. . .
