Pilgrim's RestWashburn, WisconsinBuilt in 1995 and dedicated to the Creator, Pilgrim's Rest is both our home and our invitation to you to come and share the beauty of Wisconsin's north woods.
Located on the Bayfield peninsula, Pilgrim's Rest sits among ten acres of mixed hardwood and giant white pine forest. Nearby trails take you deep into the Chequamegon National Forest, where you may encounter deer, see fresh signs of bear, or even hear a wolf. Six miles to the east lies the port of Washburn and Lake Superior. Ten miles to the north you come upon Mt. Ashwabay with downhill skiing in the winter and Bayfield's famous Big Top Chautauqua tent show entertainment in the summer. Five miles to the west is Mt. Valhalla, with extensive hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing trails. Within a ten mile radius are three inland North woods lakes that provide wonderful canoeing. Your own retreat includes a choice of rooms. The Penokee Mt. room has a queen sized bed, skylight, balcony and a view extending 35 miles south to the Penokee Mt. range. The Garden Suite offers a queen sized bed and a fireplace in your private living room with your own outside entrance. The view from the suite's windows is of the gardens and forest with frequent wildlife activity. Both rooms have private baths. A full 3 course breakfast is served in the dining room. Special dietary needs may be requested before your arrival. |
