Morel's InnNew Roads, LouisianaMorel's Inn on False River began in 1926 when the first hotel in New Roads, Louisiana was built. The original building is no longer standing but the tradition remains. We believe that apart from our cooking, our hospitality comes second to none and because of this we guarantee you a pleasant night's stay and a comfortable place to call home for a week or a month. You deserve a good night's rest. We provide you with all the comforts of home, including quilts, comfortable pillows, a coffee maker and color TV. The best part about our establishment is the lovely courtyard gardens just outside your door, but we are partial to flowers and greens. You may also like our little town just above the equator, or North of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. You can stroll through the town or use one of our bicycles, which we provide free of charge to our tenants. Our town, New Roads, Louisiana has a host of offerings including a very charming downtown area with plenty of shops and antiques galore, including historic sites and wonderful architecture to make your mouth water. In our historic district you will also find some ancient oak trees and vintage turn-of-the-century plantation homes, just old enough to remind you of your grandmother and her mother. And one of the things that we are ever so proud of is the cooking in our community. There are many restaurants but ours is our favorite. Make sure you eat at our Restaurant just behind the Inn, where you can find many local delicacies and excellent fare. We also have a cocktail bar for drinks and appetizers. The restaurant offers spectacular views of the river and water skylines, as well as the morning sunrises and evening sunsets. You are welcome to join us for cocktails in the afternoon as the sun sets or just before dinner. |
