This wonderful old home was built from 1904-1907 by Harvey Gordon Starkweather. His father, William A. Starkweather came to the Oregon territory in 1850 and served in the territorial legislature and at the constitutional convention in 1857. He later served in the state legislature. His uncle, Harvey Gordon, for whom he was named, designed the state seal of Oregon and was the first state printer. Harvey was born in 1868 in the Concord area of Clackamas county where his father had settled. When he was a boy he would hunt and fish alongside the Willamette River and visit the Indian familie. . .
