Carrington Farmhouse is primarily an early 14th Century building, although parts of it including the flooring and walls of the dining room and part of the entrance lobby are part of a 10th Century building recorded in the Doomsday Book. The, ‘New Extension' which comprises the lounge and upper bedrooms one and two, was added in 1888, evidenced by the plaque on the west facing wall. Remedial work was recently carried out upon the bay window to the lounge and a thin sheaf of timber was removed which separated the sash weights.
