The building itself was built just after the Great Fire of 1892. It's past incarnations included the offices of lawyers and doctors, as well as a horse stables (carriage house) in the back of the building. 331 Duckworth Street has since been restored and revitalized into a stunning 4 star bed and breakfast, a beautiful dining room and catering services available for small to medium sized events.
The Duckworth B&B is located on one of the 2 major streets in downtown St. John's. These 2 streets (Duckworth Street & Water Street) run parallel to each other. We are centrally located on Duckworth Street putting us in the center of downtown. All stores/restaurants/bars/coffee shops are within a 1-2 minute walking distance. The base of Signal Hill is about a 10-minute walk and the harbour is right behind our B&B where you can catch a selection of boat tours. |
