The legendary, historic, Cave Springs Resort Cabins have delighted visitors to the Dunsmuir and Mount Shasta region for nearly 90 years. Thoroughly modern when they were built in 1923, the charming "California Box Construction" landmarks today offer a rustic vacation experience that reminds visitors of a slower, bygone era. Although the beds have been modernized, these very rustic cabins offer only the state-of-the-art amenities of 1923, including: private bath with shower (two cabins have their original claw foot tubs), a kitchen with two burner gas stove (in the one bedroom cabins), kitchen with stove and oven (in the two-bedroom cabins). You'll find a vintage refrigerator in the kitchen or back porch; read a novel on your front porch. Don't worry about the telephone or TV disturbing the tranquility, because there are none! Open the back window and listen to the Sacramento River dance over rocks and splash intothe canyon just as visitors here did nearly 90 years ago. Read our unique history, and then visit to experience the old "Auto Resort" charm, and the natural and cultural history of Mount Shasta, the upper Sacramento river, and Dunsmuir. |
