Capitol Reef Inn & Cafe

Torrey, Utah

At the Capitol Reef Inn & Cafe, we hope you will appreciate our personal style, where each customer's needs and satisfactions are important.

Enjoy our quiet, clean and natural atmosphere. It's an old-fashioned Western place with a children's playground, a large grassy yard surrounded by many large elm trees, a desert garden with native plants, a waterfall, interesting collections of local rocks, and a stone kiva. A desert oasis.

The Capitol Reef Cafe is a special treat--fresh, natural and local foods deliciously cooked to your satisfaction. Healthy meals--lots of fresh vegetables, local fresh trout, brown rice, whole-wheat rolls, no additives, no preservatives, low in fat and sugar. Open 7am-9pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our Motel rooms are large, quiet and sunny, with hand-made furniture and Southwestern decorations. Enjoy our jacuzzi, satellite movies on color TV, refrigerature, phones. Most rooms have two large beds ($49 for 1 person, $4 for each additional person).

Our well-stocked Bookstore specializes in local guidebooks and maps, Southwestern and Native American literature and history, environment and nature topics. Our Gift Store specializes in Indian rugs and jewelry, kid's toys, and hand-made crafts by local artisans.

Visit our Torrey Kiva. In 1996, brothers Robin and Southey Swede began to build the Torrey Kiva. They were inspired by the Stone Age people who lived in the Colorado Plateau and built Great Houses with stone in Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verdi and Canyon de Chelly.
