In keeping with the spirit of the best of yesterday, we have themed our overnight guest rooms in honor of women whom we count it a blessing that they touched our lives. Most were grandmothers of one of the inn keepers. We take you back to the prime of their lives where each faced triumph and struggle with strength and honor. Each was caring and hospitable, women who have welcomed many guests to their own homes and tables. We carry on their fine traditions.
Frances Room The ever hardy Cherokee rose, state flower of Georgia, adorns the room of this strong woman who brought grace and charm to life in the face of every adversity. Born in the late 1800s, every day was busy assisting a neighbor, embroidering a counterpane for extra income or operating the country store. Feel the rest of a day well spent by enjoying a glorious sunset and relaxing in a king size bed.
Beth’s Room This room is a tribute to all the women who have graced our lives with their love and friendship. Delicate paintings of mixed floral bouquets represent all the states and places from which they have come. Warm honey colored furniture, double bath vanity, king size bed and inspiring views make this a welcoming and relaxing stay.
Evalina and Tessie’s Rooms Bound by the unbreakable bond of sisterhood, these two Texas sisters never lived more than a few miles from each other for all of their hundred plus years. Paintings of bluebonnets, the state flower, are highlighted in both of these rooms featuring king size beds and direct access to wooded trails. An adjoining sitting room makes a lovely semi-private space to relax or a large private three room suite.
Virginia’s Room Born in upper state New York on the first day of spring in the late 1800s, the little preemie was placed in a shoebox behind the wood burning stove. Thus began a life of great adventure that lasted over ninety years. This room, decorated in roses, New York's state flower, invites you to relax with its king size bed, cozy sitting area and breathtaking views. The large private bath features double vanities.
Anna’s Room It is only fitting that irises would decorate the room honoring this Tennessee native and avid gardener born in the early 1900s. She made many moves, following her preacher husband, but wherever she was felt like home. Enjoy the comfort of a king size bed, sitting area and the peaceful wooded scenery. The extra space in the bathroom and double vanities will make a stay easier for anyone needing more accessibility.
Mimi’s Carriage House Suite This suite is dedicated to a woman who has made making people comfortable and cared for an art form. Themed in the gentle art and colors of nature and offering peaceful views of a deep hardwood forest, this two room suite provides a spacious place to relax and unwind. The bedroom features two queen beds and a reading nook. Your comfort is extended by a separate living room and large bath with double vanities.
